UMaine Extension Paid Farmer Interviews
The University of Maine (UMaine) Extension is doing a research study. We want to learn how Maine farmers use programs like crop insurance and disaster aid.
We know Maine farms are different. We have more small farms than other states. These insurance and disaster programs don’t always work for us the way they work for big farms out west.
To help other Maine farmers, we are gathering stories about how these programs work in real life. Hearing your story can help other farmers learn how to manage risks on their farms.
We are looking for farmers who have used crop insurance or gotten disaster aid payments. Would you be willing to talk with us in a video interview (we would come to your farm)? We have grant money to pay you for your time, $400 per farm. The resulting video would be published on our UMaine Extension YouTube channel.
If you want to share your story, please fill out the form below or email Chris Howard, christina.howard@maine.edu. THANKS!!
