Soil Health Field Day: Water Dynamics and Reducing Tillage

Soil Health Field Day

What: Soil Health Field Day: Water Dynamics and Reducing Tillage

Where: Dooryard Farm, 208 Mechanic Street, Camden, ME

When: Wednesday, August 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

The community is invited to join Matt Boucher, State Soil Scientist with the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry, and Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District for the second of three Soil Health Field Days featuring the theme Water Dynamics and Reducing Tillage.

The Soil Health Field Day Series offers hands-on training in soil health to support farmers in implementing best practices. Workshops will cover not only how soil health practices improve soils from a scientific perspective, but also how to approach building these practices into general farming plans. Matt will discuss various strategies for implementing practices, and host farmers will share their experiences in establishing and maintaining soil health practices as part of their operations.

Thanks to support from Real Maine, this program is offered free of charge. Registration is required, and a family-style meal will be provided.
