Registration closes on January 6 and space is limited to 25 participants.

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension in partnership with the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF) will offer a Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

This course, open to all Maine fruit and vegetable growers, will provide a foundation of farm food safety best practices and co-management information, FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirements, and details on how to develop a farm food safety plan.

The class is being offered at the Maine Agricultural Trades Show in Augusta for $30, which includes breakfast and lunch. (The course fee is typically $200.)

This course can help farms covered under the Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule comply with the need for at least one person on the farm to have this training.

After attending the entire course, participants will be eligible to receive a certificate from the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO).
