The BPC is conducting rulemaking to incorporate several amendments to its current rules. These amendments include changes to CMR01-026 Chapter 40: Restricted and Limited Use Pesticides. Amendments will satisfy the requirements of recent legislative bills passed by the 32nd legislature, including LD 1697: An Act to Increase Penalties to Deter Violations of the Laws Regarding Improper Pesticide Use (PL 2025 c.292) and LD 356: Resolve, Directing the Board of Pesticides Control to Prohibit the Use of Rodenticides in Outdoor Residential Settings (RESLV 2025 c. 47).
A public hearing is scheduled at the next hybrid public board meeting on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10:30 AM in room 101 of the Deering Building at 90 Blossom Lane in Augusta and via Microsoft Teams. This hearing will give interested parties the chance to give public comment regarding the upcoming rule changes. The comment period for these amendments is open until March 9, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Additional meeting details will soon be posted on the BPC website.
