Farm bill progress

**BREAKING NEWS***  The Farm Bill just passed the House, leaving only the Senate to act on its version of this critical piece of legislation. The Senate version of the Farm Bill is likely to come up on the Senate floor next week and your help is urgently needed to make sure it gets enough votes to proceed.

As you are well-aware, the Farm Bill is essential to the horticulture industry, containing critical funding to programs such as the Specialty Crop Research Initiative (SCRI), the Plant Pest and Disease Management Program, National Clean Plant Network as well as the Specialty Crop Block Grant program for states to utilize.

The Senate version of the Farm Bill sustains funding measures for virtually all of these programs, and also contains an additional $25 million in funds available to all specialty crop industries through SCRI. This could be a big win for our industry if we get the bill through the Senate – but we need your help!

Please contact your Senator today and urge them to vote YES on the Farm Bill.
