Board of Pesticides Control Public Hearing for Upcoming Rulemaking Amendments

The BPC is conducting rulemaking to incorporate several amendments to its current rules. These amendments include changes to three chapters. Amendments will incorporate federal standards into rule, align BPC category titles with EPA, add descriptions to competency standards, and change reporting requirements to require electronic reports for commercial applicators and pesticide dealers.

A public hearing is scheduled at the next hybrid public board meeting on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 9:00 AM in room 101 of the Deering at 90 Blossom Lane in Augusta and via Microsoft Teams. This hearing will give interested parties the chance to give public comment regarding the upcoming rule changes. The comment period for these amendments is open until June 17, 2024 at 11:59 PM. Additional meeting details will soon be posted on the BPC website

Information regarding the specific changes that will be considered for rulemaking are posted on the BPC rulemaking webpage. If you need additional information, please contact the BPC Office at (207) 287-2731 or email at pesticides@maine.gov.
