Agricultural Labor Field Day

STATE OF MAINE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, CONSERVATION & FORESTRY
AGRICULTURAL RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT 28 STATE HOUSE STATION
AUGUSTA, MAINE 04333-0028

You are invited to the Agricultural Labor Field Day, Thursday, May 3rd, 2018, from 9:30 AM until 12:30 PM at KVCC’s Alfond Recreational Center located on the Hinckley Campus. This event is a collaboration between the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry (DACF), the Maine Department of Labor (DOL), and Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC).

Join others in agriculture in this new venue for professional networking and to find your next potential employee. For those of you looking to hire this is an opportunity to promote your summer jobs, internships, apprenticeships, and career opportunities at no-cost. It is also an opportunity to seek technical assistance and network with service providers focused on meeting the needs of the agricultural workforce. AgrAbility will be available to assist agricultural businesses with training and educational opportunities for those impacted by a disability.

DOL will be available to discuss developing job descriptions, recruiting skilled employees, posting job opportunities, find funding for training, increase employee engagement, and more. In addition, join Eastern Maine Development Corporation to discuss opportunities with the National Farmworker Jobs Program and network with staff from KVCC’s undergraduate programs in Sustainable Agriculture, Culinary Arts, and Business Administration on hosting internship opportunities for KVCC students.
