RCTB Hosting Arbor Day Virtual Farm Trip

NEWS & UPDATES April 16, 2025

RCTB Hosting Arbor Day Virtual Farm Trip

To celebrate Arbor Day and build awareness about real Christmas trees and their growers, RCTB is hosting a free Arbor Day Virtual Field Trip for elementary students. The virtual tour will showcase how Christmas trees progress from a seed to a thriving seedling in the field. RCTB encourages growers to share the RCTB’s Facebook post showcasing the event with educators, homeschool families, parents and friends. Interested persons can register for the 30-minute virtual field trip online.

RCTB/CTPB Accepting Board Member Nominations

RCTB/CTPB is seeking nominations for four board seats — one Eastern, one Central and two Western seats. Each position will be effective January 1, 2026, and will serve a three-year term. CTPB is responsible for providing two nominees for each open seat.

Producers can nominate themselves or be nominated by other producers, importers or organizations — such as state or national associations. To be eligible, nominees:

  • Must have domestically produced or imported more than 500 Christmas trees during the most recent fiscal period
  • Have paid all past and present assessments in full
  • Seek a nomination only in the region in which they produce the majority of their Christmas trees (for those who produce in more than one region)

Nominations are due by June 1, 2025. Nomination forms are available here.

RCTB Committees

The RCTB Board, which is composed of growers from across the U.S as well as an importer member, is responsible for making the decisions related to grower programs. In partnership with the Board, RCTB’s six committees advance the work in each of their assigned areas and offer their recommendations to the Board. The committees offer growers from across the U.S. the opportunity to identify and address the concerns and opportunities within our industry. For the next few newsletters, we will feature each of the committees and their roles and responsibilities.

Industry Relations – The Industry Relations Committee is charged with undertaking all industry communications. The committee engages with growers and importers across the country through direct mail, industry publications and electronic media. The committee invites everyone attending the Summer Meeting in Michigan to stop by the RCTB booth and learn more.
